Blessed are.

I was just reading my daily reading in the Bible, and this passage came into my mind, which had nothing to do with what I was reading in Ezekiel. I really felt like I should put this on the blog, with no idea quite why.

These are some of Jesus' first teachings:
"'Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.'"

(Matthew 5:3-10)

Maybe because it is my favourite scripture? Hi - my name is Jo and I read your blog all weekend in the absence of books and while down with a form of stomach flu. Thanks for the stories and the spiritual insights. This scripture made me decide to introduce myself and say hi. You have the makings of a great writer so I hope your book goes well...
